Heritage Foundation's 30th Annual Folk Festival
In honour of Aboriginal Day, celebrate the traditional way of life of the Mi’kmaq people of the island. Learn about the history of Aboriginal peoples in the surrounding area. Join park staff for an edible & medicinal plant hike departing from the Visitor Centre.

Join us at the Memorial next to the Visitor Centre at 12pm noon for the official wreath-laying ceremony in honour of Veterans from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment. Then, head over to the Visitor Centre for the festivities: cake cutting, sing-a-long, prizes and more. Visitor Centre 12pm-2pm & Nature House 10am-5pm. Free entry.
Join us for the 2nd annual Amazing Race- Terra Nova! Complete a series of five challenges as you explore the Newman Sound Area. This event will begin at 1PM at the Outdoor Theatre. All teams/ participants should meet at this time at the theatre. It will be completed in the Neman Sound area.

Join us for a Chocolate Adventure! Come and test your skills and taste buds with our Master Chocolatiers! Budding Chocolatiers of all ages will have the opportunity to make their own chocolate and the younger chocolatiers will have the chance to go on a Scavenger Hunt!
Terra Nova National Park in collaboration with the Winterset in Summer Festival hosts Susan Pynn Taylor, Winterset’s Children’s Writer in Residence. Susan is the author of A Puppy Story (2007), The Colours of my Home: a Portrait of Newfoundland and Labrador (2007)The Jelly Bean Row (2011), and On Poppy’s Beach (2013). Susan will do a series of readings at the Nature House Activity Centre Aug 5-8, 2014.
Joins us for a concert in the park featuring the Masterless Men. Concert starts at 8PM at the Outdoor Theatre – it is sure to be a star-studded ‘time’.
Join us Friday and Saturday at the Outdoor Theatre in Newman Sound as musicians come together to celebrate traditional, Irish and Newfoundland music in the beautiful surroundings of the park.
