Chignecto North

Chignecto North is located 4 km North West of the Park Headquarters. It is a large wooded campground on the highlands of Fundy National Park. Because it is further away from the Bay of Fundy, fog is a rare occurrence.

A wide range of camping experiences is available in the park, from backcountry sites to recreational vehicle hookups.

  • Open from May 18 to October 7, 2012.  Campsites can be reserved throughout this period.
  • During this period, the kiosk operates daily from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.
  • 248 sites are available for reservation.
  • Reservations are taken starting April 13. Call 1-877-737-3783 (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local park time) or click here.
  • Some wheelchair accessible sites are available.
  • Un-serviced to fully-serviced sites are available.
  • Amenities include washrooms with showers, laundry facilities, kitchen shelters, fire pits, and a dumping station. There is also a playground and a family bicycling trail.
  • Wireless internet is available in some sections of the campground

Headquarters

The Headquarters campground is conveniently nestled in the activity hub of the park near the East entrance. It offers easy access to hiking trails, the outdoor theatre, the village of Alma, and many other recreational facilities. The sites are in a semi-wooded setting.

  • Open year round.
  • Un-serviced campsites can be reserved from June 22 to August 5 2012.
  • During this period, the kiosk operates daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
  • 90 sites are available for reservation.
  • Reservations are taken starting April 13. Call 1-877-737-3783 (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local park time) or click here.
  • A wheelchair accessible site is available.
  • Un-serviced sites are available.
  • From May 20, 2011 to October 10, seasonal fully-serviced sites are available. To reserve a fully-serviced seasonal site contact the Park directly at 506-887-6000. For more details click here.
  • Amenities include washrooms with showers, laundry facilities, kitchen shelters, and a dumping station.
  • Wireless internet is available in some sections of the campground.
  • From August 8 to late June 2012, the Headquarters campground operates through self-registration for un-serviced camping.
  • The winter camping season is from October 11 to mid-May, 2012. Un-serviced and electrical sites available by self-registration. Snow is not removed from these sites. Please see Winter activities.

Point Wolfe

You have to cross the Point Wolfe covered bridge to access this campground. Truly enchanting! It is located 8 km west of the Park Headquarters. Many hiking trails are found here, and one that will take you down on the rugged Fundy shore. The campground has many open sites, other are in a more forested setting.

  • Due to clearance restrictions, access to the campground is limited to a maximum vehicle/equipment length of 7.3 m (24 feet).
