2. Learn more about the various positions available
Visitor experience students – Heritage presentation and interpretation
You'll be able to create and lead interpretive activities and guided walks, provide historical, geographic and ecological information about heritage, nature and culture.
Visitor services students – Gate attendance and cashier services
You'll be able to put your energy, courtesy and helpfulness to good use by providing courteous service in welcoming, registering and providing information to visitors.
Maintenance and facilities support students – Cleaning and maintenance
You'll perform a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure that the facilities are clean and accessible to visitors at all times.

4. Verify whether you meet the eligibility requirements for a job with Parks Canada

Who's eligible: Any person who has the legal status to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or valid Canadian work permit holder).

To be eligible work for a student job at Parks Canada, you must:

  • Be a full-time or part-time student in the winter of 2024 in a high school or post-secondary program of accredited education, adult education or vocational rehabilitation at a high school level administered by an accredited academic institution;
  • You meet the minimum age requirement in the province of Quebec.

  • Job status: Student job
  • Duration: From mid-May to mid-October 2024
  • Job type: Full-time or part-time
  • Work schedule: Shift schedule, and/or weekends, and/or statutory holidays, including provincial or territorial holidays, according to the schedule established by the assigned manager
  • Salary: Hourly rate between $16.84 and $24, depending on level of education and years of experience with Parks Canada
