What’s Open?

• Park trails and most parking lots remain open throughout the park for self-guided use with physical distancing.
• The park is busiest from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on weekends, and parking lots are often full. Consider exploring different parts of the park and visiting outside of peak times.

What’s Closed?

• Some in-park visitor services and educational programming remain suspended due to COVID-19.
• A limited number of washroom facilities are open. Please plan ahead before you visit.
• Please check our important bulletins and social media channels for more details on recent closures.

Be Prepared! What You Need to Know Before Your Visit

Spending time outdoors is a great way to support and maintain health and wellness, especially at times like these. However, we still have a responsibility to ensure this need doesn’t outweigh the safety of our park visitors and staff.

Visitors to Rouge National Urban Park should be well prepared and self-sufficient .

Here’s what you need to know before your visit to safely enjoy your self-guided experience:

• Practice 2-metres (or 6-feet) of physical distancing from others at all times.
• Keep your Rouge trip short and consider visiting outside of peak weekend times.
• Consider using the washroom before your visit.
• Have a back-up plan in case your preferred park location is too busy or overcrowded.
• Pack extra hygiene supplies like sanitizer and wipes, and bring your own water, food, first-aid, sun protection and a bag to carry garbage until you find a bin.
• Park only in designated areas and abide by all existing traffic signs. Illegal parking may result in your vehicle being ticketed or towed.
• Bring your own face mask for use when physical distancing is not possible.
• Pack out everything you bring into the park, and do not remove any plants or animals from the park.
• Download or print maps and other visitor info ahead of time. Or download our free app before your visit, available in English, French and Simplified Chinese. After the initial download, no cell signal, data or WiFi connection is required.

Parks Canada continues to ask for the public’s help to curb and report illegal dumping in Rouge National Urban Park. If you witness incidents of illegal dumping in the park, we want to hear from you. Please contact 416-282-1019 with any information. Tips may be left anonymously.
