Enjoy a comfortable and unique overnight experience! Kejimkujik offers four types of roofed accommodations:  oTENTik, Ôasis, rustic cabins, and a yurt.

All roofed accommodations include some equipment and access to some facilities and services. Additional camping equipment is available for rent at Whynot Adventure, The Keji Outfitters.

Roofed accommodations are available from Victoria Day weekend (mid-May) to the end of October. Camping is not permitted from November to April.

oTENTik

On the shores of Kejimkujik Lake, our oTENTik tents provide you with the comfort and convenience of a family cottage. The Parks Canada oTENTik is a spacious blend of tent and rustic cabin equipped with beds and furniture on a raised floor.

Ôasis

Make it a memorable family experience or couple’s getaway in a tear drop-shaped ‘duplex’, with a convertible table/bed on the main level and suspended hammock loft above. Kejimkujik's five Ôasis units are located at Jim Charles Point. Each unit can accommodate two adults and up to two children. The maximum weight capacity for the hammock loft is 160 kg.

Rustic cabins

Situated in various locations from the banks of Kejimkujik Lake to the bank of the Mersey River, these rustic cabins offer a hassle-free camping experience with a bit more privacy than the campground. Built in partnership with the Nova Scotia Community College Heritage Carpentry program in the style of local trapper cabins of the early 20th century, these cabins are a unique option for your overnight stay!

Yurt

Situated on the Mersey River, just upstream from Jake's Landing, our Little Foot Yurt is a modernized version of a traditional circular dwelling. It is the perfect front-country retreat for a couple or a small family!

Be prepared

You are responsible for your own safety. Be prepared for changing weather conditions, be aware of hazards, and have adequate information and equipment to ensure a safe visit.

What to bring

Equipment and supplies:

  • Sleeping bags, blankets, and pillows
  • Container for water (campground water is potable)
  • Camp stove for outdoor cooking
  • Cooking gear, eating utensils, dishes, and a cooler
  • Slippers or indoor shoes - the first rule of keeping a clean accommodation is to remove outdoor footwear
  • Lantern or flashlight 

Equipment rentals

Equipment rentals are available online from Whynot Adventure, the Keji Outfitters. Reservations must be made online in advance. Pick up your rental at Jake’s Landing.

A few rules

Rules that apply to the other campground sites also apply at the Parks Canada roofed accommodations. Please review general campground information.

Check in

  • Check in time is 3 pm
  • Visitors must check in at the Visitor Center or the campground kiosk

Rules and regulations

  • Smoking is NOT permitted in the roofed accommodations.
  • Pets are allowed in select units.
  • For safety reasons, cooking is NOT allowed inside roofed accommodations. A nearby picnic shelter is available for that purpose.
  • Please remove outdoor footwear when entering the roofed accommodations.
  • No open flames in the roofed accommodations.
  • In an effort to control the spread of invasive species, bringing in firewood from outside the park is prohibited. Firewood is available for purchase at the campground kiosk and at the Visitor Centre.
  • The roofed accommodation must be cleaned prior to departure.
