Primitive camping
Kouchibouguac National Park
Kouchibouguac National Park offers three different backcountry camping locations. Each one offers fireplaces, picnic tables and pit toilets. Firewood is available on site.
Well water is available at Petit-Large (spring, summer and fall only) and Sipu only, however these wells are under a boil water advisory. Ask Park attendants about the water situation.
Campers must register at the Visitor Centre.

Petit-Large
This primitive campground, which has eight sites, is open year-round.
It is located in a field surrounded by forest, about 3.5 km from the Pijeboogwek parking lot and 0.5 km from the Petit-Large shelter.
In the winter, a toboggan on skis is available to help transport your material to the site. Ask the park attendant on duty at Pijeboogwek.
Pointe-à-Maxime
This campground has four sites and is accessible only by canoe and/or kayak.
Typically open from mid-May to mid-October, it is located is the southern part of the Park near Cap Saint-Louis wharf.
There is no well water available at this site.
Sipu
Typically open from mid-May to mid-October, this campground has four sites and can be reached by canoe or by foot.
It is located along the Kouchibouguac River.
