Saint-Louis Forts and Châteaux National Historic Site

The French Governor invites you to enter his magnificent residence, the Château Saint-Louis. Participate in a role-playing game to learn about the importance of the Sovereign Council, the diplomatic function of the Governor General in New France and his relationship with First Nations. Discover Forts and Châteaux Saint-Louis located under the Dufferin Terrace while taking part in the Governor's diplomatic dinner.

The experience continues with the Huron-Wendat Museum!

At the Huron-Wendat Museum, students will experience the political and social reality of the Iroquoians. They will be taken back to the 17th century inside the Ekionkiestha longhouse. There, they will perform role-playing games highlighting the matricentric and chieftaincy system. They will also prepare a trade expedition with the French, as it was done in New France!

  • Elements of society that have an impact on land use (demographic reality, cultural reality, economic reality, political reality)
  • Influence of a group on social and territorial organization
