National parks, reserves, historic sites and historic canals

Parks Canada, in collaboration with École en réseau, is presenting a series of free online workshops that can be shared in the classroom throughout the school year.

These free workshops are aimed at elementary school (cycles 1, 2 and 3) and high school students. These workshops cover the concepts of the social sciences such as geography, history and citizenship education, and Parks Canada themes such as history, outdoors and nature conservation.

Schedule of FREE online workshops in 2024

Parks Canada workshops delivered by École en réseau are designed for both elementary and high school students.

Elementary school 2: Grades 3 and 4

  • April 17, 2024 - Learn-to Bird Outdoors
    • Presented by Parks Canada's Learn-to Camp team
  • April 24, 2024 - On board, voyageurs! History
    • Presented by The Fur Trade at Lachine National Historic Site

Elementary school 3: Grades 5 and 6

  • May 8, 2024 - Lachine Canal, cradle of industrialization History
    • Presented by the Québec Waterways
  • May 23, 2024 - Green Gables Heritage Place History
    • Presented by the archaeology, Green Gables Heritage Place and L.M. Montgomery's Cavendish National Historic Site teams
  • June 6, 2024 - The Acadians in Restigouche History
    • Presented by the Battle of the Restigouche National Historic Site

High school: Grade 3

  • May 16, 2024 - The Battle that saved Montreal during the 1812 War History
    • Presented by the Battle of the Chateauguay National Historic Site

Reservations and information

There is no registration fee for the workshops. It's all free. You can register your class on the École en réseau website. Please note that registration closes 24 hours before the workshop.

The day before the workshop, keep an eye on your email inbox. You will receive a link to connect to it.

Please note that all workshop presentations are recorded, so you can watch them later on. To do so, you must register for the workshop. Once the workshop has been broadcast, you will receive an email link to access the recording.
