The Chambly Canal National Historic Site is open every day from sunrise to 11 p.m. The path is maintained from April 15 to November 15 each year.

Additional information

  • Transit time: 4 hours minimum
  • At locks Nos. 1-2-3 (Chambly), please arrive at least 45 minutes before the last lockage.
  • The times of the first and last lockages are not guaranteed. To maximize chances of being locked through, arrive early enough to allow complete lockages in both directions.
  • Bridges Nos. 1, 10 and 12 are closed Monday to Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., and from 12:40 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
  • There are only two lockings per day during the fixed hour lockages.
  • No overnight mooring in the canal on days with fixed lockage hours. See the overnight mooring page to learn more.
