You like fishing? You will be happy to know that it’s possible to do urban fishing at the Lachine Canal and all over Montreal. Summer months are here and a great way to enjoy the sun is to take your fishing rod along the Lachine Canal, which is 13.5 kilometres.

How to get there?
- Using public transport, from the Lionel-Groulx metro station.
- By bike, you can use the cycling path.
Important
- No fishing is permitted within 10 meters of a lock, an approach wharf or over a bridge that spans the canal.
- Eat fishes with moderation. Because of contaminated sediments layer in the bottom of the canal, legacy of the industrial period.
