Lock 30 - Lovesick
Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site
Lock 30 is located on an island, and therefore only accessible by boat - a unique feature on the Waterway. The natural beauty of the setting and island seclusion makes this lock station an extremely popular overnight stop. This is a pack-in pack-out station.

History
Constructed: 1882-1887
This isolated island setting required the Lockmaster to live on-site or travel by water to access the site. Quebec contractor, George Goodwin was awarded the contract for constructing a single masonry lock and a series of dams to regulate the various creeks entering Lovesick Lake. Both the lock and dams were later rebuilt in concrete and to this day is still only accessible by water.
