Restricted Activity: TEMPORARY FIRE BAN

THE STARTING OR MAINTAINING OF FIRES IN PACIFIC RIM NATIONAL PARK RESERVE, INCLUDING THE WEST COAST TRAIL, LONG BEACH UNIT, BROKEN GROUP ISLANDS AND GREENPOINT CAMPGROUND IS TEMPORARILY PROHIBITED BY ORDER OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF PACIFIC RIM NATIONAL PARK RESERVE.
The prohibition includes campfires, charcoal briquettes, tiki torches, candles and any open flames. Gas or propane stoves and barbeques, that are specifically designed for cooking food, and CSA / ULC certified portable campfire apparatuses with a flame less than 15cm, are the only appliances exempt from the fire ban. This temporary ban has been put in place due to elevated fire danger. This notice is in effect from 12:00pm on Thursday, August 4, 2022 until further notice.
Reason:
To ensure public safety and the protection of natural resources.
