What:

Pursuant to subsection 36(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following area is closed to all traffic and travel by order of the Superintendent:

Where:

The area known as Cavell Meadows, including the Cavell Meadows Loop. The affected area is noted on the attached map.

From at UTM 430296 5837835 south along the 1870 metre contour line to UTM 429111 5837717; from there along the 130/310 degree line to UTM 430821, 5836135; then along the east/west line to UTM 430729 5837396, then along the 130/310 degree line back to UTM 430296 5837835.

Why:

To protect sensitive alpine vegetation until the trail conditions are suitable enough to discourage off-trail travel.

Penalty:

Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
