Important Information 

Elk Island National Park is experiencing high visitation. Parking lots in popular areas, like the Astotin Lake day use area and at the major trailheads, fill up early every day. Once parking lots are full, no additional vehicles will be able to access the park. Parking is only permitted in designated parking spots. If a parking lot is full, visitors are asked to enjoy another area of the park or come back at a less busy time. To avoid disappointment visitors should:

• Consider visiting mid-week (Monday to Friday)
• Come earlier or later in the day on weekends 
• Visit in the fall
