A journey through time: 2-day excursion departing from Vancouver
Map
Day 1
Departure from Vancouver
Fort Langley, 48 km from Vancouver (1 hour)
Travel through time to the 1800s when French-Canadian traders bartered with coastal First Nations for salmon, cranberries and beaver pelts, and the Fraser River swarmed with 30,000 gold-hunting prospectors. Fort Langley National Historic Site was at the heart of the action, and you can walk in the footsteps of history right in the cradle of the colony of British Columbia. Talk to interpreters in authentic costume, learn to pan for gold, hear the clang of the anvil in the blacksmith’s forge and sign up to a BB musket firing target practice.
In the evening, there’s no need to leave if you’ve booked a cosy oTENTik for a magical stay within the wooden palisade walls. Stay warm around the campfire before sleeping soundly in your bunk.
