Day 1

Hwy 1 W to Banff National Park - 128 km

Stop at the town of Banff. Explore the Cave and Basin and Banff Park Museum National Historic Sites. Camp at Banff. Stay in an oTENTik!

Day 2

Take free transit along the Minnewanka Loop. Hike Johnson Lake 3km loop. Walking in a counter-clockwise direction, the 1 hour round trip trails winds through a lush montane forest before emerging at the far end of Johnson Lake. From this point, views extend across the water to the distinctive profile of Cascade Mountain. When you’re done enjoying the scenic views along the Lake Minnewanka loop, take local transit to Banff Upper Hot Springs . Relax in the soothing hot mineral waters.

Day 3

Take the Bow Valley Parkway (Hwy 1A) to Lake Louise - 60 km

Park and ride Parks Canada shuttles to and around the hamlet of Lake Louise. Service is offered from Banff to Lake Louise; seasonally to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake; and to the Lake Louise Ski Resort. Avoid the congestion and make the most of your day. Can’t take a shuttle? Visit before 9 a.m. or after 7 p.m.

Day 4

Take Icefields Parkway (Hwy 93N) to Jasper - 232 km

Explore the hiking trails and campgrounds en route! Enjoy views of glaciers along the way. Stop at Bow Lake. Go to Peyto Lake. Both brilliant turquoise and glacially fed. Visit the Columbia Icefield area with easy to moderate day hikes and glacier tours. Feel the cool spray of Athabasca Falls. Camp near glaciers, rivers or lakes along the way.

Day 5

Explore easy walking and biking trails around Jasper. Stop at Lake Edith and Lake Annette’ sandy beaches for a swim, a suntan or a paddle.

Day 6

Discover Fiddle Valley. Stop at Jasper House National Historic Site. Hike Sulphur Skyline. Relax in the hottest mineral water in the Rockies at Miette Hot Springs.

Day 7

Explore Maligne Valley. Go fishing or boating on Maligne Lake. Hike Bald Hills or Mary Schaffer loop. Visit Maligne Canyon, Jasper's famous limestone gorge.
