6 days: Prince Edward Island


Day 1

Crossing the Confederation Bridge, the red cliffs confirm you’ve arrived! Count how many potato fields you see on the way to Cavendish Campground in Prince Edward Island National Park. Stroll down to Cavendish beach to dip your toe in the Atlantic Ocean for the first time.

Day 2

Put on your bathing suits and head to Cavendish beach for the day. Check out the Discovery Dome and reach into the Touch Tank: pick up a jellyfish, cradle live clams and hold a wriggling live lobster. Spend the rest of the day relaxing, swimming, flying kites and building sandcastles.

Day 3

Head to nearby Green Gables Heritage Place to embark on an adventure through the storied landscape. Using clues and imagination, help track down Anne and bring her back to safety.

Cap off your afternoon with some shopping and a savory ice cream cone in the village.

Day 4

Head to Brackley Beach and rent a 4-wheeled Coastal Cruiser to cycle the seaside path in shaded comfort or pack up your own bicycles to make the trek. Will you make it to the Covehead lighthouse?

Day 5

Children participate in a sandcastle-building activity at the Cavendish beach. Prince Edward Island National Park

Grab a shovel and bucket and head to Brackley Beach where a renowned local artist crafts majestic masterpieces out of sand, and shows you the tricks of the trade. Soon your family will be building spectacular forts and towers!
