BC Ferries Coastal Naturalists
Discover the wonders of the British Columbia coast with the Coastal Naturalists! This program offers BC Ferries customers the opportunity to connect with the coastal B.C. region, covering topics about the ocean, B.C.'s unique wildlife, marine life, and nautical and cultural history. Come on board to hear stories that connect Canadians and visitors to Parks Canada's incredible places.
Join us in 2021 on select BC Ferries vessels travelling between:
- Tsawwassen (Vancouver) and Swartz Bay (Victoria)
- Tsawwassen (Vancouver) and Duke Point (Nanaimo)
- Horseshoe Bay (West Vancouver) and Departure Bay (Nanaimo).
Jobs and volunteer opportunities
Parks Canada hires students two times a year for our Learn-to Camp teams and once a year for our Urban Outreach Team.
We accept applications in September for our spring season positions (January to April).
We accept applications in December and early January for our summer season positions (May to September).
Coastal Naturalists jobs
The Coastal Naturalist Program accepts applications once a year in January. Coastal Naturalist positions are operational from May to September.
Parks Canada is developing a volunteer program for our Vancouver-based outreach teams and will share more information here soon.
