Get your Discovery Pass and get ready for adventure—450 000 km2 of memories await!

Discovery Pass

Save time at the gate. A Discovery Pass covers admission to more than 80 national parks and historic sites for 12 months. It’s a yearly pass instead of a day pass.

Also available at participating locations and MEC stores

Visitor services were suspended from March to June 2020. We have extended Discovery Passes that were valid during that time. This means a Discovery Pass that would have expired at the end of January 2021, now expires at the end of May 2021, 4 months later.

Single-location passes

Available at 50 national parks and historic sites, single-location passes are valid for annual or seasonal admission to one location only.

Lockage and mooring permits

Access historic waterways, the highways of 150 years ago. Seasonal, 6-day and transit permits are valid at certain canals and waterways administered by Parks Canada. Lockage and mooring permits, including daily permits, are also available on-site.

Daily admission and service fees

Fees are charged at most national parks and historic sites, where revenues are reinvested to support visitor programs, services, facilities and conservation efforts.
