This school year’s Canada’s Coolest School Trip contest will send one amazing class on an unforgettable five-day, four-night trip to Parks Canada places in Ontario! From June 4-8, 2018, our grand-prize winners will island hop through crystal blue waters at Thousand Islands National Park, learn the art of iron work at the Blacksmith’s Shop of the Rideau Canal, and enlist as a member of the Royal artillery at Fort Wellington National Historic Site, even learning how to fire a cannon! The class will also be guests at Laurier House National Historic Site, former home to two of Canada’s most important Prime Ministers, before exploring the nation’s capital and all that it has to offer!
New this year, to enter, classes must create a photo essay about a cultural or environmental stewardship project they took part in, explaining how it relates to Parks Canada. Contest entries will be accepted online at My Parks Pass until February 26, 2018.
New this year, the contest is open to all grade 7, 8 and 9/secondary 1,2 and 3 classes and split classes containing those grades.

My Parks Pass Activity Guide
The activities found in the My Parks Pass Activity Guide, created by Historica Canada, connect significant curricular themes to Parks Canada places, bringing our history and nature to life.
Developed in line with critical thinking pedagogy, the content of this guide will enrich junior-intermediate history, geography, environmental science, and social studies classes.
The guide's content is available, in both French and English, as a free download in PDF format on My Parks Pass, or as a free interactive eBook available on iTunes and Google Play.
Canada's national parks, historic sites and marine conservation areas tell the story of our country. The My Parks Pass Activity Guide will bring these stories to the classrooms, through engaging activities, guided learning opportunities and interactive online materials.
