Campfire ban for Ä’äy Chù Valley, Bullion Plateau, and Congdon Creek Route

Parks Canada is informing backcountry users that as of June 29th, 2018 campfires will no longer be permitted in the following areas of Kluane National Park and Reserve:
- Ä’äy Chù Valley

- Bullion Plateau

- Congdon Creek Route

To minimize the risk of conditioning bears through food rewards, Parks Canada is removing all fire rings and will no longer issue campfire permits in these areas. The protection and conservation of bears, as well as the safety of visitors, are priorities for Parks Canada.  Backcountry users who plan to travel in these areas are reminded to bring a stove and fuel for cooking.
