Guided Stargazing

Learn to navigate the night sky above you! Cozy up around the campfire and learn how the Big Dipper and other stars point your way to other constellations, with lots of storytelling along the way. Due to long summer days, this program is only available from September 1 to March 31.
Length: 1 hour; start time will depend on sunset time

Snowshoe Stomp

Experience winter off trail! Step into a pair of snowshoes and stomp your way through fresh snow through the forest with a Parks Canada guide. Learn which animals have come before, identifying tracks and scat along the way! Snowshoes are provided for your use during the program.

Fire Lighting

Practice your fire lighting skills with a buffet of materials, from newspaper to birch bark to lichen to everything in between. Light a fire using flint and steel, magnesium fire strikers or matches. Test your skills!

Guided Hikes

Join a Parks Canada interpreter and hit the trail! A variety of guided hikes are available depending on trail conditions and your group’s needs.

A guided hike in bison territory in the Valleyview trail network on the West Side of the park (closer to Big River or Debden) is available for a limited number of days.
