Start a new family tradition and cut down a Christmas tree in Prince Albert National Park!

Visitors can pick up their free tree permit from the Visitor Centre. The trees are grown in nature and are harvested from the fuel break surrounding the Waskesiu townsite. Removing the trees helps protect the community from wildfire. Pack a trail guide, axe or handsaw, and warm clothes and set-out on an adventure to find a tree to suit your home.

Tips: Trees must be accessed on foot. Wear winter boots and warm clothing. It’s helpful to bring a sleigh along to carry out the tree. A first-aid kit, and extra dry mittens and socks are recommended. Use a handsaw or axe to cut down the tree. Chainsaws and all-terrain vehicles are not permitted.
