The Best Time to visit the Mingan Islands

The Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve has a great deal to offer visitors throughout the summer season. However, the ideal time to see the greatest number of birds and flowering plants is generally from mid-June to the beginning of July. Note that the second halves of June and August are less crowded with holiday-makers.

Weather Now and Tomorrow... the Mingan Climate

A basin as large as the Gulf of St. Lawrence inevitably determines the weather in its region. The water in the Gulf reaches a temperature of about 8°C in summer and goes down to 0°C in winter. This means that the summer air is cooler here than inland, while it is less cold in winter. The extremes are tempered by the Gulf.
Obviously, it is cooler here than in Montréal or Québec. But it is an ideal climate if you wish to escape the heat. In summer, temperatures reach approximately 20°C in the daytime and fall to 10°C at night.
