    The park may be 50 years old, but the region’s history goes back centuries. This day is an opportunity to learn about the Atikamekw’s rich culture through guided tours, tales and legends. Attend various workshops and a solo acoustic folk concert in the evening performed by Atikamekw artist, Laura Niquay.

    On August 22, 1970, La Mauricie National Park officially came into being. We would like to celebrate this important moment with all of you by temporarily offering free access to the park. A host of activities awaits you all day long and, in the evening, you can enjoy the mellow music of Wooden Shapes.

    A special 50th anniversary edition of the Défis du Parc will join in on the celebration! In collaboration with Cyclo-Mauricie, there will be a sports challenge consisting of various walking, swimming, running and cycling events following a pre-established schedule. (registration required)
