Parks Canada is thrilled to announce the return of Parkbus to Rouge National Urban Park for the 2019 summer season. Parkbus is a non-profit initiative with the goal of connecting people with the outdoors.

Through a partnership between Parks Canada, Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) and TD Bank, Parkbus will be running the TD Rouge Express — a free shuttle bus service from downtown Toronto to the park from June 29 to the beginning of September. Parks Canada staff will provide programming on the bus, introducing travellers to Rouge National Urban Park and Parks Canada places across the country. After arriving at the park, visitors may have the opportunity to participate in special events or explore the park on their own.

Parkbus will be running on Saturdays, Sundays and Canada Day Monday, departing from Yonge & Bloor (34 Asquith Ave.) and at the North York MEC. The pickups from Yonge & Bloor will depart at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and from the North York MEC at 9:25 a.m. and 11:25 a.m. Parkbus will head to different parts of the park according to Parks Canada programming available that day. Return times from the park are scheduled for 12:45 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Please note, that if you sign up for the earlier time slot to head to the park (9:00 a.m./9:25 a.m.) you are automatically registered for the earlier departure time (12:45 p.m.). The equivalent also applies for the later time slot: if you are on the 11 a.m. or 11: 25 a.m. bus you will automatically be registered for the 3:45 p.m. departure.

Please visit the Parkbus Rouge schedule to reserve your spot now! Please note that, although Parkbus is a free service, there is a $15 deposit when you reserve online that is refunded as long as you show up to claim your spot.

Don’t let the Rouge be your last stop! Can’t get enough of the great outdoors? Parkbus offers transportations to over 40 destinations in Ontario and across Canada and runs “ActiveDays,” a program where the community explores together. Visit their website to find out more.
