Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup
Date: Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019
Time: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Location: Rouge Beach (195 Rouge Hills Drive, lower parking lot), Rouge National Urban Park
Did you know that three million pounds of plastic pollution enters Lake Ontario every year?
Come out to lend a hand in cleaning up the waste that washes up on the shores of Lake Ontario and the Rouge River to make your national urban park a cleaner place!
Join Parks Canada and Ecohesian Inc. for our annual Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup in Rouge National Urban Park at Rouge Beach. We are co-hosting this event in collaboration with WWF-Canada and Ocean Wise during World Cleanup Day, the International Coastal Cleanup, and World Rivers Day weekend.
Cleanup supplies will be provided to participants. Drinking water will also be available on-site, so bring your reusable water bottle. Dress for the weather, as we will be cleaning the shoreline rain or shine, and wear close-toed shoes, long sleeves, and pants tucked into your socks for safety.
We can’t wait to have you out with us, all are welcome! This is a family-friendly, wheelchair and stroller accessible event.
To register, visit the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup event page.
Please note: Refer to this page prior to the event as the location may change due to high water levels. In the event of a thunderstorm the shoreline cleanup will be cancelled.
