Stay in comfort and convenience under the canopy of the Carolinian Forest.

An oTENTik is a unique Parks Canada accommodation providing a relaxing, comfortable, and easy way to camp! A cross between an A-frame cabin and a prospector tent, on a raised wooden floor, these permanent shelters are ready for your arrival. There are 24 oTENTik nestled in the heart of Point Pelee, making them a great base to explore all the park has to offer.


  • A 19 x 24 ft wide tent provides plenty of room for families or groups of up to six
  • Two-queen sized and one double-sized bed with high density foam mattresses
  • A spacious living area with a table and chairs
  • Sites are walk-in only, with nearby parking available for 1 vehicle/site

oTENTik Fee:

$122.64 per night. The fee includes parking for a single vehicle in the designated camp parking area. Entry fees are not included.

Inside each oTENTik:

  • Two-queen sized and one double-sized bed with high density foam mattresses

  • Fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
  • Broom and dustpan
  • Dishes, utensils, and drinkware
  • Cooking equipment
  • Gas or wood stove heat
  • Electric lights and outlets
  • Please note: there is no plumbing or running water in the oTENTiks

On each campsite:

  • An oTENTik with a front deck
  • Gas barbeque with a side burner
  • 2 deck chairs
  • Wildlife-proof food storage locker
  • Fire pit
  • Picnic table


  • Comfort station with showers and flush toilets
  • Water taps
  • Camp office with souvenirs, drinks, and firewood for sale

A Few Rules:

In addition to the national park’s camping regulations, Parks Canada oTENTik users must follow a few additional rules:

  • To prevent wildlife incidents, no food preparation, food or drink storage, eating, drinking, or cooking is allowed inside the tent. Store all food and related items in the wildlife-proof lockers
  • Smoking is not permitted within the oTENTiks
  • Pets are not permitted at the campground.
  • Firewoood must be purchased from the park, no wood from outside the park is permitted
