Introducing a New Park Superintendent!
This fall, Georgian Bay Islands National Park welcomes a new Park Superintendent, Camille Girard-Ruel.
Camille is no stranger to Georgian Bay, as her career brought her to the region four years ago when she took on a role as an External Relations Manager with Parks Canada. In addition to her experience as the National Corporate Identity Advisor and Brand Manager, where she focused on rebranding the Parks Canada Agency, Camille worked for the International Centre for the Conservation and Restoration of Monuments in Rome, and at Canada’s National Trust in heritage development.
Camille also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and a Master’s in Heritage Conservation and lives with her family in Penetanguishene. An avid camper, outdoor enthusiast and traveller, she stays active being a mother of two energetic little ones. When she finds the free time, she enjoys being creative in her studio where she paints and draws inspired by the beauty of Georgian Bay.
Georgian Bay Islands National Park has deep roots with its surrounding communities and its many annual returning visitors. With inspiring conservation efforts, expanded visitor offers, and a history that spans thousands of years, Camille is eager to help protect and present the park for generations to come.
Camille is looking forward to meeting and working with community members, stakeholders, partners and organisations that make the region a great place to visit, live and work.
