We are seeking students who are enthusiastic, work well with the public and are interested in natural and cultural heritage for positions located in Honey Harbour or Midland Ontario. There are possible vacancies with the following departments:

  • Visitor services/Tourism
  • Environmental conservation
  • Maintenance
  • Compliance officer
  • Finance and administration

In order to be eligible for student positions within Parks Canada, you must currently be a student at a recognised educational institution and be returning to school in September 2020.

Subsidized housing available upon request on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ecological restoration technician: Due February 28, 2020

Have you ever thought about working for a national park? Join the ‘Impede the Reed’ Conservation and Restoration project with the Resource Conservation team at Georgian Bay Islands National Park. We are looking for three hard-working, motivated individuals to improve the ecological integrity of the Park. 

Ecological Restoration Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively improve the health of the shoreline ecosystem through invasive species management, including Phragmites.
  • Become familiar with principles of field work and develop accurate data collection skills.
  • Foster public support for conservation by supporting community events. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of college or university education.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and perform field work.
  • Comfortable working in and around water and on boats. 

Other Requirements: 

  • Valid Driver’s license, Valid pleasure craft operations card (or willingness to obtain), Criminal Record Check.
