Enjoy free entry on this special day as Parks Canada celebrates the launch of two authentic Mi’kmaw-style birch bark canoes crafted at Kejimkujik this summer. Parkbus participants can explore Kejimkujik on their own or they can participate in this special event by renting a canoe or kayak from Whynot Adventure (www.whynotadventure.ca) and joining the flotilla. The flotilla to inaugurate these new canoes departs Jakes Landing at 10:30 am and travels to Kedge Beach for refreshments and celebrations. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy pristine nature and Mi’kmaw culture at Kejimkujik.

Regular: $47 – Student/Senior (60+): $42 – Children (12 & under): $24. (Parkbus will refund regular and student/senior guests $4.90 to cover the free entry offered on this day.)

Kejimkujik departure: 9:30 pm from Sky Circle

Come for a paddle, stay for the stars! Explore Kejimkujik on your own for the afternoon and enjoy interconnected waterways, meandering trails and spectacular nature; rentals available from Whynot Adventure (www.whynotadventure.ca). Once darkness falls, join Parks Canada for an exclusive dark sky experience at the Sky Circle and wonder at the thousands of stars that light up the night. Kejimkujik is home to Nova Scotia’s only Dark Sky Preserve. Private Dark Sky program begins at 8 pm.
