Proud to partner with Cape Breton University, Unama'ki Institute of Natural Resources, Mi'kmaq Environmental Learning Centre, Canadian Wildlife Federation and iNaturalist.ca.

Are you curious about plants and animals that live in our special places? Then BioBlitz might just be the event for you! On July 21, Cape Breton Highlands National Park will be hosting a BioBlitz at Warren Lake. Team up with scientists and park interpreters to find as much wildlife as possible, in a short period of time. An opportunity to see wild creatures up close and support the protection of this special place.

BioBlitz events provide participants with an opportunity to explore and discover new plants and animals, contribute to our understanding of nature and local ecosystems, and learn about species at risk. Participants and experts will capture photos and information about as many animals and plants as they can and upload them to iNaturalist.ca or through the iNaturalist App to contribute to an inventory of the amazing plants and animals throughout Canada.
