This was a very popular self-guided trail in the past. There were beavers on this trail for about 10 years (1975 to 1985), after which they left because of a shortage of food.

Have you ever wondered what happens to a forest after the beavers have left? The interpretive panels describe the beaver’s impact of the forest, its habits and its characteristics. Keep a look out for signs of its return.

In season, orchids can be seen along the trail. The diversity of the trees and shrubs also attracts a wide variety of birds, both during the day and evening.
