Fall guided experiences take place between September 6, 2019 - October 13, 2019

Please note: the Visitor Centre will be closing for renovations as of Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Registrations for fall experiences and visitor information will take place in the oTENTik near the RMNP Administration Building, 135 Wasagaming Drive.

During the fall, the temporary location will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Contact us at 1-204-210-0315 for more information or to register.

    Friday

    Call of the Wild: Car Caravan

    The sound of elk bugling fills the air as you travel on a Canadian safari in the comfort of your car and explore stops along the way. Wind your way past scenic autumn trees and grasslands in a guided caravan, while you discover the changes that autumn brings for animals in Riding Mountain. We’ll be watching for all the wildlife that the busy fall-time brings!

    Saturday

    Bikes and Bear Dens

    Unleash your inner adventurer as you bike to a nearby abandoned bear den. Learn about bears, their habitat, and why they're so important to Riding Mountain. Don't be shy trying your skills on a natural bike ramp.

    Foraging Forest Food

    Wander down Brûlé Trail with a Parks Canada guide to identify edible plants. Discover how these wild plants have been used to make tinctures, teas and other medicinals. We’ll stop to taste test a few locally sourced snacks along the way.

    * Plants will not be harvested on this experience or in the park.

    Mehwenzha – The Bison from Long Ago

    Learn about "meh-wen-ZHA" (a time from long ago) and how the Anishinabe co-existed with the giant bison of Turtle Island. Explore the bison range with a Parks Canada Anishinabe interpreter. Uncover tools, traditional techniques and an entire way of life for the area's Anishinabe people.

    Time: Sundays at 1:00 p.m. Please note : Mehwenzha will not take place on Sunday, September 22
    Duration: 2 Hours
    Cost: $7.30 per person

    Floating Dock Walk

    Experience wetlands like you never have before on a guided hike into the Ominnik marsh. The marsh is a nursery for babies, home for hundreds of species, and a huge help to humans (whether we know it or not!) Follow the floating boardwalk with a guide and discover how wetlands are huge influencers of life around them.
