Area Closed - Mt. Klotz - Mountain Caribou Habitat

WHAT: Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the Canadian National Parks Act General Regulations, all use of the southern, northern and eastern slopes of Mt. Klotz in Mount Revelstoke National Park is prohibited (see attached map).

WHERE: Use of the Giant Cedars boardwalk as well as all use of the southern, northern and eastern slopes of Mt. Klotz in Mount Revelstoke National Park is prohibited (see attached map).

WHY: This closure is in effect annually to prevent mountain caribou from being disturbed or displaced from important wintering habitat.

PENALTY: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act. Maximum penalty $25 000.
