PURSUANT TO SECTION 3(1) (c) OF THE NATIONAL PARKS FIRE PROTECTION REGULATIONS, THE STARTING OR MAINTAINING OF FIRES IN MCDONALD CAMPGROUND IS TEMPORARILY PROHIBITED BY ORDER OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF GULF ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK RESERVE.

The prohibition includes campfires, charcoal briquettes, tiki torches, candles and any open flames. Gas or propane stoves and barbeques, that are specifically designed for cooking food, and CSA / ULC certified portable campfire apparatuses with a flame less than 15cm, are the only appliances exempt from the fire ban.
