WHAT: Pursuant to Section 36{1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the following area is closed to all traffic and travel by order of the Superintendent:

WHERE:

• AKAMINA PARKWAY CLOSED TO MOTOR VEHICLES (non-motorized access only).
• RED ROCK PARKWAY WEST OF THE COPPERMINE DAY USE AREA (non-motorised access permitted to Coppermine day use area).
• ALL ON- OR OFF-TRAIL TRAVEL IN SPECIFIC AREAS WITHIN THE WESTERN PORTION OF WATERTON LAKES NATIONAL PARK as shown on the attached map.

WHY: Closed due to hazards following wildfire activity in the area.

PENALTY:  Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
