WHAT: Pursuant to subsection 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following area is closed to all traffic and travel by order of the Superintendent, Waterton Lakes National Park:

WHAT’S CLOSED:
- The area of the Blakiston Fan as delineated in red on the map including: east of the road past Alpine Stables and south of the Hay Barn and Entrance roads (Hwy 5). North of Middle Waterton Lake and west of the Waterton River except for the land 25 m from the high water mark.

- Hay Barn Road is open.

- Alpine Stables will continue to offer guided horseback rides on trails that cross the closed area in compliance with the terms of a Restricted Activities Permit

WHY:
To prevent disturbance of elk rutting in the area

PENALTY: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty
$25 000.
