Area closure: Snaring River to North Boundary – active wildfire

What:  Pursuant to subsection 36(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following area is closed to all traffic and travel by order of the Superintendent:

Where: In Jasper National Park, from the start of and including Snaring Road along the south side of the Snaring River to the west boundary of Jasper National Park. The closure encompasses the entire North Boundary Trail, including trails 150, 153, 154, 155. Following the national park boundary to Brûlé Lake and south along the west side of Athabasca River to the start of the Snaring Road. Not including Jasper Lake or Highway 16.

Why: To ensure public safety during wildfire operations.

Penalty:  Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
