Jasper National Park has a range of special events occurring throughout the year for you to take part in. Help contribute to climate change research by taking part in the flower count, or participate in National Indigenous Peoples Day, Canada Day, and Parks Day.

National Indigenous Peoples Day - June 21

Information Centre Lawn, 11 am to 4 pm

National Indigenous Peoples Day hosted by Samson Cree Nation and others.

Look, listen, and learn as the Indigenous peoples of this land tell and share their own stories in their own way.

Vendor booths include: traditional food, arts and crafts, local Indigenous history.

Canada Day - July 1

Free admission

Wave your maple leaf along the streets of Jasper and celebrate Canada's 152nd birthday! Celebrations kick off with a pancake breakfast at
8:30 am and continue through the day and night with a flag raising ceremony, giant birthday cake, parade, barbeque, beer gardens and stage entertainment against the backdrop of mountain peaks that surround the town.

Pancake breakfast - 8:30 am – 10:30 am
Centennial Park
Hosted by the Municipality of Jasper with donations from local businesses.
$5 for breakfast. Kids under 5 are free. We lend out all food ware at no extra cost.

Flag raising ceremony- 11 am to 12 pm
Birthday cake will be served.

Parade - 1 pm to 2 pm
Begins at the Activity Centre and winds though town.
No parking downtown between 11 am and 2 pm.

Historical tour - 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm
Register at the Friends of Jasper National Park gift shop in the Information Centre. Free!

Party in the park!
Centennial Park BBQ – 1:30 pm to 11 pm
Family fun activities – 2 pm to 4 pm
Live music and entertainment – 5 pm to 11 pm
Beer garden – 5 pm to 11 pm
Please no pets, alcohol or smoking (public area).

Parks Day - July 20

Information Centre Lawn, 10 am to 4 pm

The Friends of Jasper National Park offer day-long Parks Day activities including kids games, exhibits, music, guided walks, demonstrations and displays that celebrate the park and showcase some of the specialized work that goes into managing it. Encompassing over 11,000 km2, Jasper National Park is the second largest dark sky preserve in the world! During the month of October we show our appreciation and celebrate the night sky with dark sky month.
