Elk rutting season

September 1 - October 15
During rutting season, bull elk will attack anything that comes too close to them or their mates.

Keep at least 30 metres away from all elk and never get between a male and the females.

Elk rutting safety
Bear safety

It's berry season, and bear encounters are likely. Berry bushes border trails, roads and campgrounds. Black and grizzly bears are feeding on berries right now. If you see a bear, stay calm, back away slowly and leave the area. Never run.
