Skyline

Travelers should be prepared with appropriate equipment such as; sturdy hiking boots, gaiters, long pants, and hiking pole(s) to travel through deep wet snow. An ice axe may be useful to negotiate the notch if it is icy. A GPS and topographic map (and the ability to use them) may be needed to navigate through long snowy section that will obscure the trail. Hikers should prepare for this trip to take significantly longer given the current conditions. Cornice failure and/or sluffing snow are possible at the notch.
