Jasper Backcountry
Check 511.alberta.ca for road updates. Jasper National Park received high amounts of snow this past winter and spring was colder than usual. Therefore, winter conditions of deep snow remain on many trails in Jasper National Park. What to expect: • Varying levels of snow pack; deep, unsupported snow sections in some locations. • Heat and rain increase the risk of rapid snow melt, flash floods, landslides, and falling rock/snow/ice. • As the snow pack melts, water crossings may become challenging or unsafe for hikers.
