- Float your own boat or rent a canoe, kayak or stand up paddle board at the Astotin Lake Recreation area
- The boat launch is located at the north end of the Astotin Lake Area
- Motorized boats are not permitted on Astotin Lake
- Review water safety information and be aware that “swimmer’s itch” may be found at Astotin Lake. It appears as a skin rash caused by parasites. To prevent swimmers itch, limit time in the water and rinse thoroughly with fresh water after swimming in the lake. A fresh water shower is located close to the main beach in the Astotin Lake Recreation Area of Elk Island National Park.
