Getting around the Banff area
Park and Roam
Roam Public Transit services the Town of Banff, popular Banff Attractions and is the Bow Valley’s public transit service offered by the Bow Valley Regional Transit Services Commission. With buses that help you roam around the Town of Banff in an environmentally friendly way, leave your vehicle where it is and park and roam to your favourite attractions.
Canmore to Banff
Route #3 provides service between Canmore and Banff. Service is offered daily year-round.
Route #1 provides service to Sulphur Mountain/Banff Upper Hot Springs. Service is offered daily year-round (schedule varies by season).
Route #2 provides service to Tunnel Mountain. Service is offered daily year-round (schedule varies by season).
Route #4 provides service to Cave and Basin National Historic Site. Service is offered Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Statutory holidays from April 14 – October 31.
Route #6 provides service to Lake Minnewanka. Service is offered daily from May 19 – September 10.
Parks Canada Lake Minnewanka Shuttles
This shuttle provides service from Town of Banff to day use areas along Minnewanka Loop Road.
Having partnered with the Bow Valley Regional Transit Commission to offer a Roam public transit service from the Town of Banff to various locations along the Minnewanka Loop road, Parks Canada is augmenting that service with a shuttle. The shuttle will increase frequency using the same stops as the Roam service with a shuttle running in a clockwise direction around the loop. This route will link to all other Roam services within the Town of Banff and Canmore area.
Banff to Lake Louise Shuttle
Park and ride with a FREE daily shuttle service between the Banff Train Station and the Hamlet of Lake Louise. Service is offered daily from May 19 – October 9.
- Starting 7 a.m. from the Banff Train Station to the Samson Mall in the Hamlet of Lake Louise
- Starting 8 a.m. from the Samson Mall in the Hamlet of Lake Louise to the Banff Train Station
- Last pick up from the Banff Train Station heading to Samson Mall at 5 p.m.
- Last pick up from the Samson Mall heading to the Banff Train station at 6 p.m.
Banff to Lake Louise shuttles link with shuttles provided within the Lake Louise area to the Upper Lake in the summer and to Moraine Lake in Larch Season.
