Health and safety measures

Transit will be different than in years past. Now, more than ever it is important to plan ahead and learn how to be a responsible visitor to keep yourself and others safe within Banff National Park.

Our highest priority is the safety of visitors, residents and staff. In an effort to provide the safest and best transit experience possible, the following measures are in place for all transit and shuttle offers:

  • Mask are mandatory for all passengers and drivers while using any public transit or shuttle service in Banff National Park, as well as at all loading and unloading areas.
  • Practice physical distancing at all loading and unloading areas.
  • All vehicles have increased cleaning frequency throughout each day in accordance with guidance from Provincial Health authorities.

Banff local routes

 Roam Route 1: Sulphur Mountain

When: Year round

Where: Service between the Banff Avenue hotels, Sulphur Mountain, the Banff Upper Hot Springs and the Banff Gondola.

 Roam Route 2: Tunnel Mountain

When: Year round

Where: Service between Tunnel Mountain campgrounds, downtown Banff, Bow Falls and the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.

Youth (13 – 17 years) $ 1
Child (0 – 12 years) Free

  Registered campers enjoy free departure from the campgrounds – including one transfer to complete departing trip onto Routes 1, 4, 6 - fares apply for all other rides.

 Roam Route 4: Cave and Basin

When: Daily between May 21 and September 19

Where: Service along Banff Avenue to the Banff Park Museum and the Cave and Basin national historic sites.

 Roam Route 6: Lake Minnewanka

When: Daily between May 21 and September 19

Where: Service between the town of Banff and Lake Minnewanka reservoir, Johnson Lake, as well as campgrounds and day-use areas on Lake Minnewanka Road.

When: Daily between May 21 – September 19

Where: Service from the town of Banff to Lake Louise Lakeshore along the Trans-Canada Highway, with a stop at Lake Louise Village.
