All Parks Canada consultations and formal engagement on management plans are suspended until further notice.

We want to hear from you.

Public involvement ensures that park plans reflect the perspectives of Canadians.

The health and safety of Canadians, visitors, and Parks Canada team members is of the utmost importance to the Agency. Parks Canada is following the advice of public health experts and implementing measures to support Canada’s efforts to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and reduce risks to employees and visitors. Parks Canada also recognizes that the focus of the Canadian public, Indigenous Peoples and our stakeholders at this time is on public health, safety and the economy. For these reasons, Parks Canada has made the difficult decision to suspend all consultations and formal engagement on management plans until further notice. This includes consultations and engagements on plans for Banff National Park.

The Agency is currently focusing its efforts on critical operations and therefore unable to undertake full and meaningful management planning consultations. Parks Canada is committed to undertaking meaningful, accessible consultation on its management plans and strives to ensure that Indigenous communities, partners, stakeholders, and the public have opportunities to influence and contribute to Parks Canada’s activities. We are committed to resuming all management planning activities for Banff National Park, including public consultations and formal engagement, once operations resume and capacity allows.
