Banff Field Unit

WHAT:  Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the following activity is restricted or prohibited by order of the Superintendent:

WHERE: The following backcountry campgrounds are closed:
                •  Re16 – Pharaoh Creek Campground
                •  E5 – Healy Creak Campground
                •  E13 – Egypt Lake Campground

WHY: These backcountry campgrounds are closed due to bold wolf behaviour, including removing items from a tent, in search of food rewards.

PENALTY:  Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
