Lake Minnewanka Boat Restriction
WHAT: Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the following activity is restricted or prohibited by order of the Superintendent:
Launching a motor boat at Lake Minnewanka Reservoir is a "Restricted Activity". Any motor boats that been been in waters outside Alberta or British Columbia in the last 30 days must undergo a provincial watercraft inspection, and possess a valid inspection BEFORE launching into Lake Minnewanka.
To launch such a vessel without valid proof of inspection is unlawful.
WHERE: Lake Minnewanka
WHY: To reduce the risk of introducing invasive aquatic species into Lake Minnewanka Reservoir.
PENALTY: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
