Motherwell Homestead National Historic Site

The Motherwell Homestead is just over an hour’s drive northeast of Regina and an hour west of Yorkton. Open seasonally from May till September. Plan to spend a few hours exploring the Homestead to savour fresh baking in the stone house, or enjoy homemade lunch at the café.

Directions

Saskatchewan is a landlocked province in western Canada. Motherwell Homestead National Historic Site is located in south eastern Saskatchewan, one hour northeast of Regina and one hour west of Yorkton. The province is accessible by scheduled airline services that connect with most major centers in North America and northern Europe, as well as by road in the United States.

Air:
The Regina International Airport (YQR) is 118 km from Motherwell Homestead. Major car rental agencies operate out of the Regina International Airport.

Car:
Travel northeast on the Trans-Canada Highway and take a slight left to continue onto Highway SK-10 East. Continue for 100 km, through Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan. Turn right at the signs for Abernethy and Lemberg on SK-22 East. Travel south for 6.3 kilometers. Past the town of Abernethy, continue straight on Kenlis Road (gravel road) for 2 kilometers. Motherwell Homestead is on the right hand side when travelling south.
