Work on the lock

Parks Canada is carrying out some rehabilitation work on the Saint-Ours Lock. Work on the marine structures, updates to the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.

Period: October 2019 to April 2020

Proponent: Government of Canada

Notice to users: The access to Darvard Island will be maintained most of the time; however, the contractor may need to restrict the passage to facilitate the realisation of some specific work. During construction, Parks Canada asks the public to exercise caution and comply with construction zones and signage.

Work on the Saint-Ours Dam

Parks Canada is carrying out some rehabilitation work on the Saint-Ours Dam, including replacing the dam’s valves, repairing the concrete, stop log and valve No. 4, and installing guardrails on the bridge deck.

Period: October 2018 to December 2019

Proponent: Government of Canada

Notice to users: No impediments to pedestrian traffic on the dam deck are anticipated.


Rehabilitation of the Vianney-Legendre Fishway

Work to upgrade the fishway will take place at the end of summer 2019, including the rehabilitation of the downstream gate, the replacement of the trash grate on the upstream side, and the installation of deflectors to reduce vortices and enhance the effectiveness of the fishway.

Period: August 2019 to December 2019.
