School programs

Forges du Saint-Maurice National Historic Site

Introduce students of different grade levels to educational programs and activities to be held on site or in the classroom.

These programs bring social studies concepts to life in a stimulating learning environment.

Classroom activities: Online workshops hosted by École en réseau

Parks Canada is pleased to partner with École en réseau to present free online workshops all year long. These workshops are intended for elementary school students in cycles 1, 2 and 3, as well as high school students.
They cover various themes as history, outoors and conservation.

The day before each presentation, those who have signed up will receive an email with a link to join the workshop.

All presentations will be recorded and can be viewed after the original presentation date using a link provided to those that registered for the presentation.

School program: The Forges du Saint-Maurice guided tour

Suggested content: Presentation of the history of the first industrial village in Canada, and its legends that go far beyond iron and flames.

Le mystère des Forges

Suggested content: « La Saga des Trois-Rivières » "La Saga des Trois-Rivières” is a free digital comic book trilogy produced by the heritage team at Culture 3R.

Created as part of a collaboration between Culture Trois-Rivières and Parks Canada, “Le mystère des Forges” is the second volume after “Territoires indomptés.”

“Le mystère des Forges” offers a lighthearted presentation of the Forges du Saint-Maurice, Canada’s first industrialized establishment.

« Le mystère des Forges » met en valeur de façon ludique les Forges du Saint-Maurice, premier établissement industriel au Canada. Un cahier d’accompagnement éducatif est disponible pour les enseignants du 2e et 3e cycle du primaire, ainsi que du secondaire.

Target group: Elementary school students (2nd and 3rd cycles) and high school students.

An educational handbook is available for 2nd and 3rd cycle elementary school students, as well as high school students.
