Some Parks Canada places have begun a safe, gradual reopening of some outdoor areas and services, including camping. Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and be well-prepared for their visit. Details here.

Site schedule

The national historic site is open every day from sunrise to 11 p.m. The path is maintained from April 15th to November 15th each year.

Navigation schedule 2020

Starting on July 17, operations will resume between Lock No. 3 and Lock No. 5. For the entire canal, the target date remains the first week of August.

Transit time: 3 to 5 hours

Please take note that times of first and last lockages are not guaranteed. To maximize chances of being locked through, arrive early enough to allow complete lockages in both directions.

Transport Canada's physical distancing standards for Canadian boaters must be respected. It is possible that boat capacity may be considerably reduced, and that the waiting time may be increased. We appreciate your patience and collaboration.

Hours of operation

Lockages at fixed hours during 2020 operation season. More details to come.

At locks 1 and 5, arrive at least 30 minutes before the last lockage. The floating docks are located on starboard.
