Site schedule

The national historic site is open every day from sunrise to 11 p.m. The path is maintained from April 15 to November 15 each year. 

Lockstation hours 2020

From July 17 to August 9, 2020

  • The schedule for lockages between Locks Nos. 5 and 4 from Lachine to Atwater Market is:
    Upstream Lock No. 5 to Atwater Market: 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
  • The schedule for the return to Lachine from Lock No. 4 is:
    Downstream Lock No.4 to Lachine: 1:00 p.m. –  3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. 

From August 10 to September 7, 2020

  • Saturday, Sunday and Holidays
    Lockage on request: 
    First lockage: 9:30 a.m. - Last lockage: 6:30 p.m.
  • Monday and Friday
    Lockage on request: 
    First lockage: 9:30 a.m. - Last lockage: 4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
    Two lockages are scheduled at fixed hour: First lockage: 9:30 a.m. - Second and last lockage: 1:00 p.m.

From September 8 to October 12, 2020

  • Monday to Friday
    Two lockages are scheduled at fixed hour:First lockage: 9:30 a.m. - Second and last lockage: 1:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sunday and Holidays
    Two lockages are scheduled at fixed hour: First lockage: 9:30 a.m. - Second and last lockage: 4:30 p.m.

Additional informations

  • Transit time: 3 to 5 hours.
  • At Locks Nos. 1 and 5, arrive at least 30 minutes before the last lockage. The floating docks are located on starboard. 
  • Please take note that times of first and last lockages are not guaranteed. To maximize chances of being locked through, arrive early enough to allow complete lockages in both directions.

Transport Canada's physical distancing standards for Canadian boaters must be respected. It is possible that boat capacity may be considerably reduced, and that the waiting time may be increased. We appreciate your patience and collaboration.
